Splendid concert!

Dear CAO members!

Congratulations on a splendid concert on Sunday.  There were some beautiful solos and we really captured the lush and subtle textures demanded of the fine French music.  The Russian second half served as a wonderful contrast.  Abi’s lovely playing was sensitively accompanied, even round the tricky corners.  The Schostakovich was near perfect and a terrific way to round off the evening.

Next term we start on the 16th April with our concert on 27th June. Half term break will be on 28th May.  The opera themed programme  will include Beethoven’s ‘Fidelio’ Overture, a marvelous arrangement of themes from Puccini’s Tosca and a set of Arias or symphonic work yet to be confirmed.

If you have any repertoire requests for our forthcoming seasons please do get in touch. It’s your orchestra so we will include your requests wherever possible.

Have a wonderful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you on 16th March. Or if you can make the orchestra social tomorrow we will meet at Pizza Express at Great Portland Street for 7.30pm. Please get in touch and let us know if you can make it or not and feel free to bring partners and friends. We will continue on to our local pub by the station after dinner so pop along whenever you’re free.

Best wishes, Thomas and Abi
