Dear CAO members,
We are looking forward very much to our concert on Sunday. I will forward the poster for you to share via email and social media as soon as I can make it small enough to email. In the mean time it can be taken from our facebook page.
The arrangements for Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon/evening are as follows:
Thursday will be a run of the programme. Please arrive in good time so that we can start promptly at 7.45. The church is available from 7.30 for set up but please do not enter before the end of mass. Please be sure that you have all of the music you need in your folders at the end of rehearsals and speak to Joy if anything is missing to give us time to find a solution before the day.
On concert day (Sunday) we will meet from 3.30pm in the crypt centre and have access to the church following mass at around 4pm. Please leave all bags and instrument cases etc in the end room of the crypt centre as the rest of the crypt will be in use whilst we rehearse. Rehearsal order is:
Concert dress is the usual ‘black n’ bling’ theme. The temperature is better now and the heating will be on but please do dress warmly to be on the safe side.
We have 3 kind volunteers for the door and interval drinks but another would be good so if anyone is yet to come forward now is the time.
We will be selling cake at the interval too so please do get baking. Jo can’t cater for all of us alone!
Thanks for all of your wonderful playing again this term. I’m so happy to be playing my favourite piece (Tchaikovsky) with so many of my friends in the band. Here is a clip of Stern playing it conducted by Rostropovich for you to enjoy! My interpretation is a little different however :).
All best wishes and thanks, Abi and Thomas
Ps we still need some volunteers to be part of our focus group in order to continue into 2016 and beyond. Please do get in touch if you can offer some time so we can continue and thrive.
Pps. Please rsvp regarding our social evening on Thursday 26th. We will have fun and wine in good company so what could be better?!
